In collaboration with The House of Grauer, probably one of the most prestigious cigar stores in Switzerland (Geneva), Cuervo y Sobrinos has created a new limited edition watch with a vintage flair. The Robusto Pedro Murias pays homage to the son of Cuba and the home of his extraordinary enterprise, "La Meridiana Fabrica de tabaco de Pedro Murias." Pedro Murias began making cigars in the 1860s in a modest workshop in downtown Havana. As the popularity of cigars grew, so did his reputation. Eventually, in 1882, due to the high demand for his products, Murias moved to a new two-story building, "La Meridiana Fabrica de tabaco de Pedro Murias."

Considered one of the most important factories in Havana at the time, La Meridiana covered over 1,500 square meters and produced some of the finest cigars.

The former cigar factory still stands, but today it is intended for residential use. Collaborating with The House of Grauer, based in Geneva, Cuervo y Sobrinos pays tribute to Pedro Murias with a new limited edition watch, the Robusto Pedro Murias.

Limited to just 100 pieces, the Robusto Pedro Murias is rich in Cuban style. Featuring a salmon-colored dial - inspired by the original color of the walls of "La Meridiana" - framed by a contrasting chemin de fer, the watch is endowed with generously sized silver-toned hour and minute hands.

These large hands are complemented by Arabic-style indices. Both the hands and indices are lined with cream-colored Super-LumiNova®, enhancing legibility in low light conditions and giving the display a vintage look.
